Converting PDF to Greyscale in Nuance

  • Open colour PDF with Nuance
  • On the ribbon, click File, then hit Print
  • Select Nuance PDF as your printer, then hit Properties
  • In the new window that appears, hit the Color drop down and select Grayscale
  • Hit OK to close the window
  • Hit OK to begin printing
  • A new window will pop up, asking for a name and location for the PDF file, enter the name and hit Save

How to Shrink a PDF

  • Open PDF with Nuance
  • On the ribbon, click File then hit Print
  • Select Nuance PDF as your printer, then hit Properties
  • In the new window that appears, select Resolution and Select either Medium or Low – Multi-page files may need to be set to Low
  • Hit OK to close the window
  • Hit OK to being printing
  • A new window will pop up, asking for a name and location for the PDF file, enter the name and hit Save
  • How to check file size

    • You can check the size of a file by, right clicking the file and going to Properties
    • To see the size of multiple files, at the same time, highlight multiple files then right click and hit Properties. This will show you the combined size of all highlighted files
  • Convert Photo to PDF

    • Open image file using Windows Photo viewer, or any other viewing application
    • Click on the three dots on the top right-hand side, then click Print
    • Select Nuance PDF as the printer, put the orientation to Portrait and Shrink to Fit
    • Click Print, then when a new pop-up window appears, enter the name you wish to call the file.
